Disclaimer: If you've heard of them, I don't own them. Everything else is mine, so no stealing, pretty please. ;-)
This story is gonna be darker, and deal with serious, sometimes disturbing
issues. Just so everyone knows. Okay? Okay.

~Faye's POV~
I don't know if I'm a hero or a coward.
I left him.
These last few weeks ever since I finally told Jimmie everything, I've
I've known it was time to leave him.
And so I did.
That's the hero part.
But I did it like a coward.
I packed up everything I owned and moved out of Matt's house, all in one day, and into a place of my own.
I changed all my mail, my phone number, my email.
And I told Matt I was leaving him while he was working. With other people around.
So he couldn't try to convince me in his own special way to stay.
He yelled, of course.
He got really angry, of course.
But he didn't hit me.
And so I just walked out of his life and into my own.
The only part that's hard
is that Jimmie hasn't really talked to me in weeks.
He's been keeping his distance, and I totally understand that.
But still I miss him.
And I need him more than ever.
I need a friend to get me through this. To tell me I did the right thing. To back me up when I'm scared to death of the future.
Which is why I've been holding the phone for about 20 minutes, trying to dial Jimmie's number.
Suck it up, Reginor. Just call him. It's just Jimmie.
"Hello?"
"Jimmie? Hi, it's Faye."
"Hey! I was just thinking about you!"
You were?
Really?
"Well, I was just thinking about you too. I was wondering if you were free for dinner sometime this week we have an article to write, and I haven't talked to you in ages."
"Sounds great, Faye. Really. Anytime is fine with me. Well, except, you know, Sunday morning." I can hear the smile in his voice, and I laugh in return.
"Tomorrow night?"
"I'm there."
Okay, this is good.
Actually, this is better than good.
