[chapter three]
Disclaimer: If you've heard of them, I don't own them. Everything else is mine, so no stealing, pretty please. ;-)
This story is gonna be darker, and deal with serious, sometimes disturbing
issues. Just so everyone knows. Okay? Okay.

~Jimmie's POV~
"You know, we really need to stop meeting like this." I say with a smile as a come around a corner and bump into Faye walking out the shop door.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry!" She cries, her eyes flying up to meet mine.
"No problem." I say with a smile, squeezing her shoulder lightly, my own eyes darkening as she shies away slightly. "How are you? Did you and Matt make up?"
She sighs slightly, then smiles brightly. "Sure. You know, lover's spat. I bet you have that once in a while with your girlfriend."
"If I had a girlfriend, maybe. But sadly, I'm a humble bachelor." I grin.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
Hello, awkward silence.
"You um need some help?" I ask, gesturing to the box she is carrying in her arms, the purse sliding down off her shoulder.
"No I " She stammers, looking nervously over her shoulder.
"I don't mind."
"Thanks." She says so quietly I can barely hear her. I take the heavy box from her arms and smile gently. "Where are you parked?" She points and I follow her across the blacktop to her small coupe. A few seconds later, she's all loaded up and she smiles shyly at me.
She's so pretty when she smiles.
"So at least tell me your last name, since we're bound to run into each other again at this rate." I say easily, leaning against her door.
"Reginor. Faye Reginor."
"Pretty name."
"Thanks." She blushes, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Anything else you wanna tell me?" I pry with a grin. "So I can talk to you about something other than your boyfriend and your name?"
She laughs a little, looking down at the ground. "Um. Jeez. I don't know. I'm a freelance writer. I'm a Taurus. I like Pepsi better than Coke?" She says, her forehead creased in concentration.
She's adorable.
"Perfect. I'll keep all that in mind for when I see you again." I smile. "I better go. Nice to see you, Faye Reginor."
"Thanks for your help, Jimmie." She replies, opening her car door, booting me out the way gently. "Bye."
"Bye." I say as I turn to sprint across the parking lot to my meeting. I run into Matt on the stairs and clap him on the back. "Hey man. Just ran into your girlfriend. Sweet girl." I say easily with a smile.
His eyes darken for a moment as he looks at me.
Weird.
What's the deal?
"Yeah. Faye's great." He says tightly. "She was she bothering you?"
"No. I just helped her carry some stuff to the car. She looked like she had a handful. She seems really nice. How long have you guys gone out?" I ask curiously.
"Long enough." He says tightly, yanking open the door to the conference room.
Damn. Touchy.
I wasn't hitting on her, dude.
Just being friendly.
Oh well.
