[chapter thirty-six]

This story is gonna be darker, and deal with serious, sometimes disturbing

~Jimmie's POV~
"Stop whistling and being so damn happy." Chad growls. "It's
annoying."
"I know, but I can't help it." I say with a broad grin and he rolls his eyes at me good-naturedly.
"This wouldn't have anything to do with the sexy broad staying at your place, would it?" Chad teases with a smile.
"Maybe." I laugh, then laugh harder as Faye walks through the door.
"What? What?!" She asks as we both burst out laughing.
"Nothing. Chad's being a bonehead."
"Surprise, surprise." She deadpans and Chad pretends to look hurt.
"Ouch."
"I was gonna see if one of you sexy beasts would like to take me to lunch." She smiles and my heart melts at the sight of her.
And the sight of that tight tee shirt makes something else, well, not melt.
"I guess I will, since Chad's not sexy."
"You just say that because I'm not your type." He says seriously and I grin. "Watch it, or I'm going to make myself Faye's type, no matter what."
"Sorry, she's taken."
"Pity."
A few minutes later, Faye and I stroll out into the sunshine, making conversation with various crew members on lunch break.
"I'm happy to see you." I say earnestly, taking her hand in mine.
"Me too." She smiles. "I had to make sure that last night…um, wasn't a dream." She covers her face with one hand. "Hello, welcome to high school."
I laugh as a blush creeps up her cheeks. "You're so cute." I smile, dropping a kiss onto her mouth. "I love you."
She starts, stopping where she is standing.
Shit.
Shit, I shouldn't of said that.
I didn't even realize I was thinking it, much less saying it.
It just slipped out.
Oh god.
Her eyes watch mine for a long moment, and I want to crawl into a hole and die.
"I love you too."
But if I were to crawl into a hole and die, I couldn't pull her into my arms and kiss the hell out of her.
Like I just did.
