Nya smiled shyly as Jamie opened his front door. "Hi." She said simply. "I wanted to see if I could borrow a cup of sugar."

Jamie looked at her in confusion and a hint of sadness. "Really?"

Nya shook her head. "No, not really. I came over to apologize in person for dodging off at the race. I'm sorry for that."

Jamie shut the door behind her and limped to the couch and sat down. Nya looked at him with concern. "Did you hurt yourself?"

Jamie's eyes darted back and forth as he quickly thought of an excuse. "Old football injury."

"Uh-huh." Nya said, sitting down next to him, not believing his flimsy lie. "Well, I'm sure you've gotten the full report from Casey, so I came over to see if you had any other questions he didn't cover, though he seemed quite thorough in his interrogation."

Jamie shook his head stoically. "No, I don't think so."

"Jamie...are you alright?" Nya asked with concern, daring to reach out and touch his shoulder lightly before pulling away.

"Sure. Listen, Nya, I wanted to tell you...I'm really glad you and AJ worked things out. I'm happy for you, if that's what you want." Jamie said bravely. "That's great."

Nya stared at Jamie, her jaw dropping slightly until a look of realization crossed her face, before snapping her jaw shut again. "You cheeky bastard! You *were* spying on me! I thought I saw you in the window!"

"No!" Jamie defended a little too loudly and quickly. "I just...you know...I..."

"You were spying." Nya said evenly, trying so hard not to smile and break her icy stare.

"Hey, I don't like guys sniffing around my woman, alright!" Jamie said, standing up with a wince and half-pacing, half-limping around the room in frustration.

"You hurt yourself when you dove for the floor! I saw you!" Nya shrieked. "I can't believe this!"

Jamie had the grace to look embarassed as his cheeks reddened.

"Wait a minute...what do you mean, sniffing around your woman?" Nya asked. "I'm not your woman."

"You are." Jamie said plainly.

"Since when?"

"Since the minute I saw you." Jamie said softly. "And when you were totally mean to me, well, that sealed the deal."

Nya's mouth opened and closed several times as she tried to form a coherent thought. "Why?" She whispered. "Why me?"

Jamie shrugged, stopping his pacing and looking at her. "Do you have to have answers to everything, Nya?"

"I need answers to a couple of questions, and I want honest answers." Nya said sternly. Jamie nodded his acquiescence, and she continued. "Do you plan on having threesomes with any of those women from the track?"

"No."

"Do you plan on dumping me in bed with an unsuspecting men in the future?"

"No." Jamie grinned. "I mean, unless you beg for it, or something."

Nya bit back a smile. "One more question, and it has several parts."

"Fire away."

"Do you still have those leather pants?"

"Yes."

"Did you buy them for me?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to go put them back on and test their power now?"

"God, yes."

"Good news." Nya smiled, standing up and crossing the room to stand in front of Jamie. "You passed with flying colours."

Jamie wrapped her in his arms eagerly, kissing her deeply and taking her breath away.

"Good." He said huskily. "Now, let's go get you some sugar."
