~Madelyn's POV~
I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
Five days. Five days I've waited by the phone, praying he would call.
Praying he would tell me to quit my current job, to leave it behind, to be with him.
And he didn't call.
God, I was pissed.
And now come to find out he didn't even get the letter?
Could two people possibly screw up a relationship any more?
Maybe this is a sign. Some sort of divine intervention that we shouldn't be together after all.
"Madelyn! Maddy?? Maddy, are you here?" I can hear Jeff's voice ringing through the coach area as I pack up my laptop and my notes.
Oh my god.
He must have found it.
Or is back to really kick my ass.
"I'm I'm here." I say, poking me head out from behind one of the haulers nervously.
"Maddy " He breathes, rushing over to me and pulling me into his arms. "Don't leave, don't leave, don't leave "
Thankyousweetbabyjesus.
"I'm not going anywhere "
"Stay." He says, pulling back to look me in the eye. "Stay forever."
My breath catches in my throat as I look into his eyes, which are silently pleading with me to say something, anything to make this right.
But I can't seem to talk right now.
I can nod, though.
He grins broadly when I do before pulling me against him and giving me a searing kiss. "You're not leaving?" He asks between kisses.
I shake my head no.
"You're going to stay?"
I nod my head yes.
"We're we're okay?"
I nod my head yes with a smile.
"Thank god." He sighs, continuing to rain kisses onto my face. "Come on."
"Where are we going?" I manage to ask as he pulls me behind him towards his coach.
"To find you some Jello shots. Let's go."
I can only laugh as I trail behind
him happily.
