"Dinner, huh?" Jimmie said, raising an eyebrow.

"I was hungry. So was she. Not a big deal." Robby said, downplaying his dinner with Alexa the night before.

"Mm-hm."

"It was nothing. Just dinner." Robby defended.

"You ask her out yet?" Jimmie questioned.

"No!" Robby said emphatically, shaking his head.

"Maybe you should." Jimmie teased.

"I can't."

"Why?"

"You know why." Robby said in frustration.

"Maybe you should. She's cute as hell." Jimmie said with a grin. "If it weren't for Faye, I'd be all over that. 'Course, she would kick my ass."

"Jimmie? Shut up."

**

"Was it a date?" Jimmie pressed.

"No."

"You took her to a movie."

"It was a matinee. Matinees don't count. And I don't consider orcs and Helm's Deep to be a very sexy movie to take a girl to." Robby threw back.

**

"This is ridiculous." Jimmie said in exasperation. "Just ask her out, already."

"Dude, you know I can't!" Robby shot back.

"I don't get the 'why you can't' part. Explain it again." Jimmie demanded.

"She's…she's…an intern." Robby said weakly as Jimmie laughed.

"Whatever you say, man."

**

"Hey Alexa." Robby said, shoving his hands in his pockets as he stood in the doorway of the staff lounge where Alexa was engrossed in jotting down notes in her binder.

"Hey Robby, what's up?" She said, smiling happily.

"Uh…I was just…I was just wondering if you wanted to grab dinner with me tonight?"

Alexa smiled and nodded. "Sure, sounds like a plan. What time are you done here?"

"Around 7?" Robby asked timidly.

"Sure. I'll meet you out front like usual?" Alexa asked.

"Um, actually, I was thinking I could pick you up at your place. Around 7?" Robby asked again.

Alexa looked at him for a moment before nodding. "Sure. Sounds good."

Robby let out a deep breath as he scurried out into the hall, trying to convince himself it wasn't a date.

It wasn't.
