"Here, I'll walk you to the door." Robby said, leaping out of the driver's seat to accompany Alexa to her front door, worried that her house looked so dark.
"Thanks, but you don't have to " Alexa trailed off as Robby closed her door after she climbed out.
"Is Roger home?" Robby asked as they walked slowly up the pathway to her front door.
"No he had a show in Charleston." Alexa smiled. "There's a crown involved, and if there is one thing drag queens love, it's sparkly crowns and jewelry."
Robby laughed, always amused at the antics of Alexa's roommate. He came to a halt at her door as she fumbled for her keys in her pocket and unlocked the front door before pocketing her keys again and turning to face him.
"Thanks, Robby. I had a good time. And thanks for everything. I mean that." Alexa said, suddenly shy. "You've been just well, RCR isn't nearly as scary with you around."
Robby shrugged slightly. "Just doing my part for the welcoming committee." He smiled.
Alexa returned his smile, watching as he nervously shifted from one foot to the other. She'd never seen Robby uneasy, and she hoped she hadn't done something to make him uncomfortable.
On the other hand, she was dying to make him just a little more off kilter.
Alexa's mind silently battled over how to say goodnight to the man in front of her before finally coming to a decision.
"Well, goodnight." She said softly.
"Goodnight." Robby echoed, not moving an inch.
Alexa closed her eyes for a moment before taking a step forward and laying her palms gently on Robby's chest. Tilting her face up, she pressed her lips to his, her eyes closing again as she moved closer to him.
His lips were so soft.
And he tasted like the ice cream cone he'd just eaten.
She felt like she was in heaven.
But heaven turned to hell after a few short seconds when Robby grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away from him, breaking their contact.
Alexa stepped back, her eyes wide with fear and confusion.
Robby's eyes met hers for a moment, emotions clicking through them too fast for her to register.
"Oh God Robby, I I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Alexa breathed as he continued to stare at her, his jaw clenching in what? Anger? Confusion?
"I'm sorry." She repeated as she turned to the front door and opened it with shaking hands. With one last look over her shoulder, she said it again. "I'm sorry."
And then closed the door, Robby still standing stock still on the other side.
"Oh my god " Alexa breathed, sinking onto a nearby chair. "What have I done?" She whispered.

"Alexa!" Roger said loudly as he banged open her bedroom door. Alexa sat straight up in bed and gazed blearily at the clock on her bedside table, noting that it was 7:14 in the morning.
"What?" She asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong is that there is a strange man in our family room and he looks really angry and confused. But he does have the most divine smelling cups of coffee with him." Roger said sleepily. "And he's asking for you."
Alexa fell back on her pillows
and tried not to cry.
