~Jasmine's POV~

Dear lord, I've created a monster.

You know, when I walked into Jeff's office this morning, I was expecting to drop off carpet samples, give him a quick kiss and be on my way.

Not this.

Not to be straddling his lap, trying not to make a sound as he slides inside me slowly, silently but for a muted hiss of his own.

Not writhing on top of him, my arms wrapped around him and pulling him to me, needing to feel his arms around me.

Not seeing stars after only a few seconds of his touch.

Not having our eyes locked on each other as he meets his own release, his arms tightening around me, his face buried against my chest.

Yeah, not what I was expecting at all.

"Baby? You're shaking. You okay?" He says softly after a few seconds, his hands sliding over my back soothingly.

"I'm okay." I say into his shoulder as I hold onto him for dear life. That was the sexiest, most unexpected, most dangerous thing I've done in a while. "I just … "

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, baby, I shouldn't have done that. I'm sor - "

I cut him off with a kiss. "Shh."

"You're okay?" He looks at me, his eyes pleading with me to say yes.

I smile slowly. "I'm more than okay." He sighs deeply, resting his forehead on my sternum for a moment. "You called me baby." I say softly as I kiss the crown of his head.

"Yeah." He says, looking up again. "Is that okay?"

"You know, if you are going to ask me if everything is always okay, you're going to run out of your conversational quota with me before you're forty." I tease, standing up to straighten my skirt and running a hand through my hair.

"Okay." He says, and I snap my head over to look at him, only to see him smirking back at me teasingly.

"Booger." I say as he stands up to kiss me goodbye.

"Baby." He whispers tenderly, kissing my lips softly.

But such a good monster.

"You been running the stairs outside Jeffy's office?" I hear Jimmie's voice behind me as I head for the front doors and my car.

"Huh?"

"You're looking a little flushed."

My hand flies up to my cheek and I can still feel the warmth in them from my tête-à-tête with Jeff upstairs. Oops.

"It's hot in here."

"Riiiiight." Jimmie says, winking at me. Damn brat.

"Jimmie … please don't … don't tell anyone about me and … " Jimmie puts up a hand and I trail off.

"No worries. I won't say a word to anyone. Well, I'll probably harass Jeff some, but don't worry." I stick my tongue out at him as he grins broadly. "Jas?"

"Hrm?"

"He's a good guy." He says sincerely, and I cock my head, confused.

"I know that." I say softly, shyly.

"And he's fallen for you."

"I know that too."

"I just don't want him to get hurt again."

And the funny thing is, I think to myself as I head out to my car, I'm worried that I'll be the one hurt in the end.
